Membership Committee
One of the distinctions between the Band and other angel groups is the strong technical background of our members and the requirement to have been founders or C-level executives at high tech companies in the Valley so that we can provide value-add counsel and investment to our portfolio. Not everyone that applies to the Band gets accepted, and the Membership Committee has a key role in interviewing and recommending prospective member candidates. Criteria to serve on the Committee is to have been a Band member for at least 18-months and to have invested in at least 2 Band deals.
The prospective member interviews are conducted in person for at least 30 minutes and discuss with the candidate their professional background, previous angel investment activity, interests in joining the Band and what they would like to get out of their Band membership, as well as how they plan to contribute. These meetings are also a great opportunity for the prospective members to learn from the Band member interviewing them about the Band process and their membership experience. Following the interview, the Band member provides a confidential written assessment to BandHQ.
