Vinay Gupta
Vinay Gupta brings over 20 years of executive leadership and operational expertise in the financial services industry to the Band of Angels. Most recently, he served as President of Dividend Finance, a leading clean energy financing platform, successfully growing the company from near zero to $6 billion in annual originations and successfully selling it to Fifth Third Bank in 2022. Vinay's career includes senior roles at Credit Karma and Capital One, where he spearheaded product innovation, data science initiatives, and strategic business growth. His experience spans consumer lending, fintech services, and credit risk management, consistently delivering results in both large public companies and high-growth startups.
A strategic thinker with a passion for scaling businesses and building high performing teams, Vinay is eager to leverage his operational acumen and financial insights to identify and support promising startups. He is particularly interested in mentoring entrepreneurs in the clean energy and fintech sectors, drawing on his deep knowledge and hands-on experience.
Originally from India, Vinay has called the US home for over two decades, residing in Palo Alto with his wife and two college-aged sons. He is a graduate of IIT Bombay and IIM Calcutta.
