David Carrico
David Carrico is a serial entrepreneur and investor. David has spent his career building companies at the intersection of technology and media - including live concert streaming platform EVNTLIVE (Acquired by Yahoo!) and independent film & television studio Valparaiso Pictures (Acquired by Annapurna Pictures). David also co-founded Focus Ventures one of the first institutional investment firms to invest in blockchain and digital assets (now DBA Distributed Global). Most recently David served as COO of Speakeasy AI, an AI native conversation tool incubated by Emerson Collective, which was acquired by Project Liberty. David is an active angel and has invested in over 35 companies at pre-seed and seed over the last 5 years. David serves on the board of directors of cybersecurity company Kibu, and media organizations Coda Media and Doubleblind Media.
David’s passion for filmmaking led him to produce several award-winning films such as Independent Spirit Award-winning “PIG”, Sundance award-winning “On The Count of Three”, Emmy-nominated documentary “Toxic Pigs of Fukushima”, and the forthcoming “Barney” live-action film with Mattel.
David lives in Portola Valley with his wife Aubrey, and 1 year old son, Huxley.
