Simon Boag
Simon Boag is Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Aro Homes, a tech-driven product company in residential housing that makes beautiful, carbon-negative homes. He is a board director, board observer, active advisor, and investor across a spectrum of enterprises. His notable tenure as Chief Technology Officer at Kensington Capital is highlighted by the successful raise of over $2B in capital coupled with the guidance of IPOs for QuantumScape, WallBox, and Amprius on the New York Stock Exchange. In his capacity as Managing Partner at IncWell Venture Capital, Boag meticulously evaluated over 8,000 startups, culminating in 43 strategic Seed investments. His venture capital insight was honed through several years of leading various startups, gaining an authentic grasp of the startup lifecycle (a polite way of saying all but one failed). Prior to his venture into startups and capital investment, Boag’s 24-year career in the Automotive Industry included EVP of Global Manufacturing for Case New Holland and was an Officer at Chrysler Group holding positions including President of Mopar (Global Service & Parts, a $5B stand-alone P&L), EVP of Procurement (purchasing over $40B per year), and VP of Assembly & Stamping Operations (with direct responsibility for 35,000 employees).
Boag’s international experience includes his role as Daimler VP of Production Planning with the Mercedes Car Group in Stuttgart, Germany, President and Managing Director for General Motors Argentina, Paraguay & Uruguay, and President of the General Motors-Suzuki Canadian joint venture CAMI Automotive.
Born in Georgetown, Canada, Boag is an alumnus of both the University of Toronto, where he earned his BASc in Mechanical Engineering, and Stanford University, Graduate School of Business, with a Master's in Management Science, Sloan Fellowship. In his spare time, he travels with his wife and five children, actively supports several philanthropic organizations, and reduces stress through ultra-marathons, Ironman & Double- Ironman triathlons, and has qualified for both Boston and Kona. Living in Tahoe, his new adventure for 2024 is starting to explore the world of backcountry split boarding.
